I have saw a lot of larger channels selling merch like t-shirts, cups etc but I am curious whether they actually sell well and when is best to start selling it on your channel. What are your thoughts on it do you reckon its worth it? I have friends with 300k plus subs who dont sell merch but they probably could but I am unsure if they would get many sales. I know in my own experience with websites that in the past when people said they wanted merch and i built a store that not a single item sold from it and that was after maybe 100 people saying they wanted it. The merch was well designed, as cheap as I could make it etc but still not a single sale after promoting it heavily for about a month. It seems like one of those things people say they want but most dont follow through on getting and for to have real success your audience needs to be extremely loyal with a very viral channel within a niche.
What are your thoughts? It seems its only a good idea when theres minimal time put in and minimal risk ie not holding own stock etc
