I heard this recently from someone that they feel "too old" for TikTok, theyre not even that old but they feel this way about using the platform. Does anyone else feel this way? I personally think anyone can use and enjoy the platform regardless of age but there does sometimes seem to be stigma around being an older content creator on the platform, similar to using Snapchat when over 25 haha 😅

I was looking on Amazon there for microphones and I noticed that they dont seem to sell the original XLR Blue Yeti microphones, they have the newer Logitech G Mics and and standard Blue Yeti USB version but the pro versions just seem to be discontinued. Does anyone know a good alternative XLR mic with similar sound quality to the Blue Yeti Pro XLR version, I was thinking maybe Rode has something similar? I find the USB versions just dont sound anywhere near as good as the Pro XLR too and I want to make use of my Zoom h5 recorder.

Anyone had experience with the cheap large diaphragm microphones like this one on Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/MACKIE-EM-91C-Mackie/dp/B083MXSC7Z/ ? I have read some good and bad reviews online, they seem to be very fair priced compared to the Rodes large diaphragm ones but surely we pay for quality.

I second this, I have an anxious family member and I would always check places before going to them, for example she was anxious about visiting the cinema so I searched up the exact one to show her what it is like inside. People are always sharing videos of locations too so most places are searchable. Applying this to your own shop, salon, services etc is a fantastic idea.

Does anyone else struggle with recording in this heat? I am making a new channel very soon but I honestly feel like holding off until the heat has passed as I know I wont be as motivated to film for it. What do you do when its super hot like this? Postpone recording or just go for it even if its really hot? I remember years ago I would wake 5am just to get recording early before the sun was fully up and use my air conditioning an hour before using the room but to be honest that only helped so much.

I am really struggling with this at the moment coming up with a new channel name. I want something personal, something related to the niche and brandable but I find my name is so common it is difficult to find something that I really like. I wouldnt mind trying something really new and out there. When looking for a name for this forum I came up with some pretty unique names but ended up with the name WeMakeVids which I was so surprised was available. How do you come up with names? I feel like I need to really ensure this works because I intend to make something of this channel and have a real go.

So my largest channel feels dead, I am getting barely any views compared to my small business channel and I feel that just fully restarting again may be the best option for me. Has anyone done this before? It feels crazy and risky just starting again. I will let my subscribers know of course but unsure what else I should do to try and retain what I can from the channel. It is about 7 or 8 years old now. I worry that I start the new one and abandon the original and end up with neither channel performing at all. Same time I dont have much to lose at this point with videos performing so poorly. What do you reckon? Anything I should be careful about or should I just risk it yolo haha

What software does everyone use for making their YouTube thumbnails? Lately I have just been screenshotting in Premiere Pro and often just uploading from there. In the past I would always do this but transfer into Photoshop for final edits. What do you like to use?

This week I am very likely to create a new channel in my niche as I am finding my main to be really under performing and I think a complete reset by starting again could genuinely help me grow more. Does anyone else use AI for video ideas? I find that using AI as a sort of creative assistant can help you come up with fresh ideas especially when youre a bit stuck about what to make. Can be useful for brainstorming and just seeing what it comes up with. You never know when something sparks off another idea. I tend to use it when really unsure of the best direction to take. By starting a YouTube channel or TikTok you can tap into these massive resources and grow your community and earnings with the right mindset, efforts, perseverance and strategy.

If youre thinking about starting a channel imagine how many of those active users could seeing your videos.

If you own a service based business you could share your work and processes and show off work you have completed and gain local customers off building a name for yourself on YouTube. If you love playing games and chatting with your friends online you can record these experiences and share them with other gamers who would love to have a circle like yours. If you have a knack for cleaning your house you can share your day and cleaning tips and techniques that people will love seeing and share with their friends.

Starting your channels in the first place is the largest hurdle for most people. Most people have an idea and never run with it out of fear of failure, friends seeing it or not doing well. Some people even say if my video doesnt get X views I will delete it and then give up when it hits 50. By pushing past this and continuing this is how eventually a channel can grow into something bigger.

When you see larger channels just know they also started at zero too. Past times may have been easier for whatever reason but YouTube now values quality content over everything.

Think of answering peoples problems, who would be your viewer, what would they need, why are they watching, how old are they, what do they love to see, how can you serve them in your videos?

This is exactly what I think takes most businesses further, many dont focus on this side of marketing with most spending most of the time on livestreams etc actual useful content creation I think is what drives them forward for longevity and without needing the use ads as much. YouTube, TikTok etc can be seen as a mostly free traffic source waiting to be tapped into

I often post whenever which may not be the best idea, I find during the UK daytime when I post during the day when people are at work and school etc that they dont perform as well. In the past I would schedule for 9pm and the videos were doing better back then. Not sure if due to the time of posting but that worked best.

I find if I dont do something then and there it ends up never happening. I have to write down every idea I have or they are forever lost. It goes to show a small bit of action one day can lead to success. If I didnt do the idea then I would have never got those views and followers because of taking the action. On that day I could have thought to myself "nah just leave it, thats stupid" but I went ahead with the stupid idea haha

Yeah I would think that as well. Like I know photographers cannot use street photography for commercial purposes without permission so surely this would be the same.

That would look really smart and clean, often times less is more. As long as your logo is on it and something that hints at the type of content you make youre doing well. I used to have a posting schedule and all sorts on mine but I dont feel its necessary these days at all.
