Is AI in Content Creation Ethical or Does It Depend on How You Use It?

  • This is something a lot of people have spoken about lately. Content created with AI being bad or misleading etc I think we all have our own views on its usage. For me personally I really dont mind when something is created with it unless it is misleading or not labelled as AI in a way to really dupe others into believing something happened etc

What are your thoughts on this? Is AI bad or harmful for the viewers or is it purely about how you use it as a tool. That is how I see it, if used as a tool to assist I am really not bothered by it being used. I use it to help with video ideas as I dont have anyone to brainstorm with and I have used it as part of my business to help with social posts as I am really not good with sales copy etc I havent used it to cause panic or spread misinformation which is where I see it being a MASSIVE problem.

Do you use AI in your content? I have to say I do and I love using it for adding thread tags on here as I cannot stand typing them out and will hopefully help with our SEO and people finding the forums :D

  • Well obviously today I was confronted with my first real arguments for it's use, and I guess I can kind of see a bit of gray in it. But I'm a big picture thinker, and I want a world of community, and a world where we can trust our senses. I also believe that to use AI to generate the actual content you put out, meaning using it to actually write the script, create the very ideas you're gonna be talking about? I see that as theft, it's like you've pulled little ideas from the rest of the collective, told a computer to make them sound good, and then put that out as your content. I don't think there's an argument anyone could make that would change my mind on that.

People are also saying "well what if you are too shy to be on camera" Well be a V-Tuber, pick an avatar that is cartoonish, become a symbol or funny little animal or something, I just think even choosing to TRY and make a REALISTIC looking person? I don't care if it's legal, I don't care if there's a small disclaimer, it's just too.... it muddies the waters of what is and isn't real too much, it just seems anti-community.

But let's say you use your own words, but the AI helps you word them better, you generate the voice cause you're too scared to talk, and you put a disclaimer in the beginning "the person in this video is not real" Then while I still just "get the ick", I suppose I'm not adamantly opposed to that. But if you DON'T put any disclaimer? If you flood the internet with multiple accounts and it's not your ideas, not clear the person isn't real etc? I consider that a crime against humanity and want to see laws put in place to punish such behavior.
