Ive been editing a LONG time now, since around 2010 roughly is when I began using Sony Vegas and then eventually Premiere Pro. Obviously it depends on what kind of video and its editing needs, length etc but these days I am editing far far less than I used to mainly as my videos don't need that much editing. Usually the starts trimmed and the end and then I make cuts where I want to rid of bloopers etc for a 30 minute video I find I spend more time watching during the edit than anything so probably takes about 40 mins for a 30 minute video.

Theres so many POV content creators coming out at the moment using Meta glasses and recording the public, to name a couple there's Filtered Bros who make videos in shops messing with staff that theyre unable to say products properly and a lot of it is hilarious and then theres channels like Michael Ballymore where he goes up to people out in the public and often banters with them etc

So my question is this, are these videos legal to post and are they able to be monetised?

Whats your content goal for the rest of 2026? We are over half way through the year now and it has flown by. For me I am trying to make sure I stick to posting regularly on my main, I really want to stabilise and grow my views, they have taken a massive dip as I wasnt posting as regularly as I should have been due to commitments and health etc but I have found a way to post more comfortably. So for me definitely more uploads and regularly. I have saw the channel take a nosedive after posting only once a month etc

Hey everyone I am please to announce we now have a forum for sharing your channel achievements and milestones. In this new forum we encourage you to share channel subscriber milestones, video milestones, monetisation milestones and all milestones related to your journey as a content creator. You can post about your first video hitting 10k on TikTok or getting your first 100 subscribers on YouTube.

The forum is for sharing what is an achievement to yourself and we encourage you to share!

    Achievements & Milestones

That said we do have some rules within the new forum to ensure its spam free and a place for celebrating creators journeys, most of it is common sense only sharing actual milestones and not making promo posts disguised as milestones -

This forum is for sharing meaningful achievements related to content creation.

    Examples include:

    • Subscriber milestones
    • View milestones
    • Monetization achievements
    • Sponsorships and partnerships
    • Business and revenue milestones
    • Creator awards and recognitions
    • Personal creator goals achieved

    Please Don't Post

    • "Almost there" or "nearly reached" type milestones
    • Very minor or repetitive updates
    • Promotional posts disguised as milestones
    • False or misleading achievements

    Mass Posting

Congratulating other members is encouraged, but if a large portion of your activity is in the Introductions and Milestones forums, it may be considered mass posting.

As a guideline, if more than 30% of your posts are in these forums combined it may be considered excessive.

    Moderator Discretion

Moderators may remove any milestone thread that is low effort, repetitive, promotional or otherwise not in the spirit of this forum.

So I have a business channel with around 20 subs, I decided to just post my Tiktoks that I already make as shorts there. I have noticed the channel performs really well with shorts but I am curious, will posting only shorts mean when I eventually do longer videos that they will also perform well or are they likely to do poorly with the subscribers expecting short form content? Has anyone got any experience with growing a channel at the start solely off shorts.

I used to do lives a lot on TikTok never on YouTube other than using a loop with Steamlabs. Back when I was doing TikTok lives my typical structure was like this below but over time I did feel like I was doing the same things on repeat and eventually kinda burnt out.

    Start>

Welcoming people, chatting a bit and a warm up to get into the flow of things. This part would start fairly slow but I would have a lot of energy at the start but not fully be into the stream right away.

    Middle>

Doing the main "performance" this is where I would slowly lose energy for performing during the stream but I would have steady viewership. It would tend to plateau during the middle and lose some viewers.

    Ending>

Towards the end I would do the same thing every single time to give people something during the livestream to wait for, like keeping the best part of the meal until last. I would also disappear abruptly at the end so no one know exactly when I would disappear which I would do intentionally to leave viewers wanting more from me.

Do you stick to a strict structure or do you change yours up a lot to avoid burn out? What do you do keep your energy up during the middle?

I use the sony a5100 but it has over heating issues if not attached to a cam link, also a built in beauty filter that makes your face look smudged that cant be turned off, stay away

Sounds like a nightmare a permanent beauty filter lol wonder why they designed it so that it doesnt let you turn it off 😆

Ive tried using this with mixed results. I noticed when logged out of Adobe that the results sometimes are not as good as when youre logged in. Its a useful tool and easier than cutting out

Honestly it is the best one I have tried out of all the free and paid options. A lot of the free ones will give you a low resolution file to work with and often have so much feathering around the edges it is unusable. I wonder if they use a different version of AI or something when youre not logged in and using the free tool. I still sometimes have to use Photoshop but a lot less often. I tend to mainly pay for this when I know I am going to need to do product images for my business. They need cutting out from a white background and this speeds the process up massively.

While I don't have first hand experience I do know a case study regarding this topic 😅
One of the largest creators and streamers now a days, CaseOh posted 22 tiktok videos pretending to be live and reportedly got 10k tiktok followers overnight (60k+ in March of 2023 he started posting in Feb 2023) and now posts 3 clips a day I believe so anyway.

He was then able to use the traction from and on his first twitch livestream had 70 - 105 viewers

Sounds like a good way to get a start up following lol worth trying anything these days as a growth strategy to see if it works as better than not trying at all. I find when I post less the videos seem to perform better on TikTok at least, the more I neglect posting seems to mean more views when I do post again. This doesnt apply to my YouTube though haha

I used to have a channel partnered with TGN I think George from Freedom used to work for them. I loved being part of a network but I dont think they offer much at all to creators. Getting a partnership was a big milestone. I think most have closed down now.

I remember TGN and Machinima, I havent heard anyone mentioning "getting a partnership" or MCNs in such a long time now. I know on TikTok theres companies that will work with you to get you product and brand deals etc but as to what they do for you and revshare etc I am not certain.

How do you keep your livestreams fresh? I used to go live every couple of nights on TikTok on my main and would get about 1k followers consistently but I lacked the energy to keep doing the same show each night. I felt as if it was the same thing, the same regulars and it was fantastic being pushed out to a load of new people too but when you do the same thing on repeat it doesnt feel fresh for yourself any more so god knows how the audience must feel or is that just an illusion and they are happy to consume the same thing over and over?

What do you do to keep yours feeling fresh?

Is it best deleting extremely poorly performing videos on TikTok? On my main channel I get what I consider a lot of views and when a video gets under 1k views within 2 days I am very tempted to just delete it as it obviously wasnt what my audience wanted etc what are your thoughts on this? Would you delete them or leave them? To me they end up feeling like dead weight.

I dont have exact experience in gaming. I have saw others where they would play League of Legends for years and have a massive subscriber base and worry about the same thing. They did go on to branch out and do extremely well with other games too on their channel. I think its likely all about how you do and slowly doing it versus a sudden change. I did have two channels where the main I wanted to do other content on it but felt it would be best on a separate channel and I ended up having two channels that I just didnt have the energy to maintain. The second channel is now dead sadly but does gain views and subs. I wish I just made a playlist and integrated.
