• Michael this is all your fault! πŸ˜† I was gonna just post to @symphonious7 and nowhere else, had it all figured out but you kept saying "Make a new channel make a new channel" cause the videos on the old one were getting between 3 and 10 views, SO I DID. I posted my first video yesterday, gave it a thumbnail I think seems pretty clickable, and here we are almost 24 hours later and NO VIEWS. So like... now I just have two channels that barely get any views and I'm not sure which to post to but it seems to me I should probably just stick with my old one.

I mean at least there is SOME kind of action happening over there, and every AI I talk to, (which means copilot and chat gpt) insist that an old channel can be revived with consistent high quality posting and lots of internet activity. I'd feel better knowing that someone who finds me has a wealth of old content to go through if they choose to binge me, but then what do I do with this new channel? I got a new gmail for it and everything lmao All I know is tomorrow is a posting day so I have to figure it out before then....

  • Dont blame me haha :D I get the frustration of trying something and it not working right away. You need to make content for the new one around a specific subject as much as possible and for an exact audience. 1 video may not blow up instantly as YouTube only has that one video to go off of when it comes to what your channel is about.

It could be useful to ask yourself who is your viewer, why would they be watching? How does my video cater to them and what they are looking for and do I deliver it? Could it be delivered differently at all?

Can you share the video either here on privately with me and I can have a watch and look at its meta info etc can see if anything obvious stands out before your upload tomorrow :D

  • Its this one

But I mean, I watch tons of people making this kind of content, and I really think this is quite good for the gaming montage genre. I may have left a few things in where the energy got a bit too low but at the same time LOTS of people post long gaming vids with lots of boring bits or down time and I still find just watching the game enjoyable. Plus, it's gotten NO clicks, so nobody has even seen the content, if anything is to be blamed it would be the thumb.

I don't however think there's anything to blame here other than "new channel isn't trusted by algorithm so slow start" but if I'm gonna have a slow start on either channel? I'd rather have it reviving my old one than making a new one.

  • Is the guy at the start meant to sound so low, the game audio sounds a lot lower than you do on my end at least. Title could do with more in it and not sure if part 1 is needed. Could use something like First Time Playing Fallout New Vegas Was A Chaotic DISASTER! etc

EDIT: One critique would be to be up closer to the camera if possible so we can see your face reactions a whole lot more. If can do that would be excellent!

  • Nope, camera is as close as it can get, there's no space to put a tripod, I don't have a tripod, and there is a desk in the way. It would also appear I accidentally uploaded an earlier version of this video, I have a later edit that is a bit punchier, and I put subtitles for all video game characters and the message "Audio gets better later" at the beginning, I must have accidentally uploaded my previous version before that. I realized the game audio was low about 20 minutes into the stream and fixed it it's just that first part.

  • Ok actually I MIGHT be able to get the camera closer, (but not for sure) if I could pull one of the desk's drawers out and set things in it so I could stand the phone up on that, I might be able to get it closer, it also might be looking at my chest I'll tinker with it.

EDIT: Ok I think I figured this one out actually, I had been trying to find a way to zoom on camo cam with my phone, didn't think to see if there was any other way. After looking it up, you do it through the app on your computer but it apparently can be done, so next video you might be able to see my face better.
