What Made You Start Making Videos?

    Did you start making videos for the fun of it, to make money, to go alongside your business? What drove you to start recording your videos? People start for all kinds of reasons and I am curious what made you start.

    For me its always been various reasons, for my old kids channel I started because me and my ex partner saw others achieving great results in the niche and we felt we could do it too and contribute to a growing niche. It was fun making the videos and took us back to being kids just messing around and making content that people were loving and seeing views come in was VERY rewarding.

    For my current channels I love bringing content that actually helps people and knowing it helps them is rewarding for me. I love giving in general and this is my creative outlet for my own ideas and knowing that helps others is excellent.

    Growing up I joked around the idea of making videos seeing creators like DanTDM, PopularMMOs etc flourish only a couple of really bad (not even screen captured) gameplay which was on a channel long gone now.

    My real attempt at content creation was 2020 when I was 12, I started with livestreaming games on Twitch and reached twitch affiliate within a few months when I was 13.

    A bit after that I started trying out recording youtube videos and uploading stream vods. It was always done as I enjoyed it.

    Thats excellent, would you come back to making YouTube videos? I dont think I can not have a channel now after all these years of creating them. I know that if what I do now was to end I would be likely to jump into something else. I have saw creators go from niche to niche on YT over the years from kids and toys to education to entertainment and gaming :D

    Haven't thought about it much, haven't uploaded or went live in over a year.

    I've also been getting a bit of a distaste for the platform as a company, but that's a completely separate can of worms to get into lmao. Started out when things like this was announced:

    As part of the shift to AI, YouTube is introducing a “voluntary exit program” for employees, per Mohan’s memo.

    Fast forward to today, YouTube doesn't listen to it's creators, their creators are getting slapped mainly because of the flawed copyright system they have. Animation channels have gotten hit the hardest by far. (I also want to mention I have nothing against AI and actively use it mainly in programming like environments but phrasing it like that is kind of eh imo and all the AI slop)
