Recording youtube videos at home with family around without feeling the anxiety

  • I need to start to record soon for my business YouTube but I have family living at the home with me and I feel self conscious and silly when speaking that they will hear me. I am thinking it is best to wait for them to be at working or out of the home. What do people do when they have a busy homes so noisy and full of people and need to record their video? I am stressing and getting anxiety thinking about it already. I am unsure if this is just self confidence or common problem.

  • This is something I used to struggle with a lot when I lived with family. There was never a quiet time where I was able to have space to record without shouting in the background, kids screaming at random etc I think all you can do is either wait until nobody is home which can be rare in some households or try your best to get used to people being in the background which really isnt the best depending on content type. If I was doing voiceover narration I would consider driving out somewhere quiet with no one passing and recording it in the car somewhere but thats not always going to be an option for people. I used to have a lot of worries over the background sounds being picked up and also being heard speaking so can fully understand where youre coming from. It is quite hard to overcome but you can get used to it over time by just doing it which is easier said than done.
