What Video Editing Software Do You Use?

  • Ive used so many over the years, most have been paid software. I started out on I believe Sony Vegas such a long time ago now but eventually and daringly began using Premiere Pro. For a long time I was "scared" to use it. I felt like I couldnt get used to it but now its become second nature. The only thing I really bring over from Vegas is customising the keyboard shortcuts to use S for splitting clips like in Vegas. I would struggle using K I believe the default is. I find it easy to use now but was a learning curve at first and I felt a bit limited as it is different. I still recommend Vegas to anyone wanting to take their editing to the next level but 100% think Premiere is the best for what I do and how I use it.

What do you use and prefer?

  • I use a free version of adobe premier, been using that for years.

Definitely one of the best for most editing. I have been tempted to try Da Vinci Resolve and the freeish software Lightworks.

Now that I use Premiere there's no way I could go back to Vegas, so much better in every way other than the learning curve but I think its best to start on it than having to move over to it after years in Vegas.
