Should You Take Subscriber Requests or Stick to Your Content Strategy?

  • I've been thinking about this today myself. I metalified an Elton John song and copilot said I should put in the description "What song should I metalify next?" And I just did it, but then I thought about it and I was like "I don't wanna become the guy who turns any request into a metal song. I did it with the Elton John one cause I could hear in my head how it would work, it was a natural idea, if people start saying "make this metal! Make that metal!" I'm not sure I'd have an idea for just any song that wasn't kinda contrived or boring, and I don't wanna get stuck in that lane. But at the same time, maybe that's the kind of challenge I need or something.

I think it makes more sense for me to just say "if you have a cover you'd like me to do tell me and if I get an idea I'll do it" That feels a lot better.
