It feels like the end of an era for me, on my larger channel I have just more or less debranded it and it is now considered to be a catalogue of old videos. I feel so awful as I used a Chrome extension to delete maybe 2k community posts and I have removed the old channel name etc. I really wanted to create a new identity thats fully separated and I have mostly achieved that. All associated accounts I have unbranded them to make them appear generic. I feel this is needed so I can start fresh if that makes sense. Its been quite emotional seeing posts I have 9 years ago and removing those, the posts were a huge part of my journey and growth. I of course didnt have to, I didnt need to do any of it but for a full and better separation I think its the best route for me. A hard decision to make but I believe it is worth it. It was a hard decision but I couldnt sit forever on it. I have just killed my old brand and its such a weird feeling but I hope this is the start of something new and better for me and my followers.

OMG YOU'RE ACTUALLY HERE!! ITS NOT JUST ME AND MICHAEL ANYMORE!! LORD HALLELUJAHH!!!!
And I am going through a bit of a crisis myself. I came back to my old channel, and tried to revive it, views have basically been total garbage except one music video that got over 50 views. I went ahead and created a new channel with a new banner I spent a whole day making, and I said I was gonna post to both channels and see which one does better right? But now that I'm about to actually do this, I'm realizing that's not an option. My tiktoks are picking up steam and I want them to lead back to a channel, I can't very well tell people to find me at two channels now can I?
So I actually probably should just bite the bullet and start over on the new channel, but I JUST TOLD MY OLD SUBSCRIBERS THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE HAPPENING ON SYMPHONIOUS7! So that means I'm once AGAIN gonna have to retcon something I JUST said, and all the flakey changing shit up is part of why I left youtube in the first place lmaoooo Ughhh.... but honestly I don't think a music and comedy channel can just pivot to a gaming/music channel so easily. And I should probably just do it. I hope some of the old subs follow me though, there were some good people watching my channel! And Th3StuffShow was one of em! Seriously bro, so good to see you here.

Im having a bit of nostalgia for sure!
Symph, Its not an easy thing to figure out at times. My TikTok is a bit political and full of my views on life and opinions mixed in with puppet skits, my youtube is stagnant and I barely use it now, but have a few gaming vids on there, but its not what my original followers where there for, and then on twitch i have my main account that is officially a dj affiliate channel, which means no VODs, so for my other content like chatting art and games I had to make a second twitch channel. 🤦🏻♂️
Basically, all this really reflects my ADHD lol
It’s hard because I wanna do so many different types of things, but not everybody will enjoy everything I do so I’m spreading myself around so to speak which in a way it makes it harder to gain followers and stuff.

This is Symphs similar struggle too being pulled in so many directions at once. Honestly I find sticking to a niche and powering away at it seems to work best. You guys have actual talent to share too but I do get it. It is hard to stick to one thing when you have so much to share, its easy to get overwhelmed too if managing multiple channels etc Off topic but was amazing seeing you and Victor in a photo, should have got them Ai checked haha I was in so happy seeing those

Is your DJ channel doing good sticking to the same thing? -
You know its funny because I thought of myself as the flakiest youtuber in the world and believed I was the only one who kept making schedules and not following through and over diversifying my content, so I disappeared for 10 years and got myself mentally and physically together, came back and started really looking at my friends and other youtubers and suddenly realized "wait... almost everyone is like that to some degree or another. You're telling me I was just NORMAL???!!!" lol But I think my vision for what I gotta do is starting to become clear, I'm definitely just gonna ditch the old channel. I hate that but it is what it is, the gaming content is getting zero traction and they're good highlight reels. I think by next week I should be able to be on some kind of schedule. And yes, Adhd is bitch lol

Yes! Overwhelmed is definitely what I'm feeling, I really think I need to stick to this gaming/reaction thing until I get somewhere, and I may need to drop instagram, it doesn't respond to the gaming content very well but tiktok does and I just don't have a song to play every day on IG. I could get there though.

It is a very usual thing on YouTube and why so many disappear, its like school. If you stay off once it can form a pattern then you feel silly coming back and then you do and then disappear again after 10 videos and feel bad for it and it can become a horrible cycle. The best thing anyone can do is stick at it regardless of how they feel etc even when videos perform bad. Its so easily to fall off the train and feel like you cannot get on again.

TikTok is honestly so much easier to get followers than ANY other platform. Insta is hard I reckon, YouTube isnt as hard as Insta. As for the livestream platforms really unsure. I know Sephiroth streams so he may know if its fairly simple getting followers on Twitch etc
-
It seems to me that if you want followers on twitch you need to do long streams, I keep tapping out around 2 and a half hours, and that feels like it's right when people start showing up. If I could get up to 4 or 5 hour streams I'd probably see pretty steady growth.
-
yea i just started streaming on twitch, started with youtube recently, twitch people expect hours at a time forsure

sometimes you just need a fresh start, channels already doing well in 1 month, its good that your motivated now once again!

Thank you, I am honestly so thankful I went ahead with the decision. It felt like I was giving up on something solid but doing this has proven that the channel had ran its course.

How long does it take for yours to typically get a group of people watching or is it typically fast if you have a following already?
-
decent if you already have a following, depends how "alive" your channel currently is, if starting fresh its probably a nightmare, especially on twitch. For twitch growth its imo best to pick a game thats not so popular and less competition and stream as much as you can, make tiktok or youtube shorts and farm viewers from those platforms from highlights of the game play.
-
I JUST started getting some organic followers on tiktok who aren't people I already know, and tiktok said one of my videos is outperforming 90 percent of other videos in it's genre, it's the first truly hopeful thing I've had happen yet, definitely gives me a motivation boost.

I'm pretty sure this is what I'm gonna do, it just upsets me a bit as all my tiktoks up till this point have been linking back to my old channel and I don't wanna go back through them all and change it, plus I JUST told my followers I was gonna be posting there only, now about a week later I'm gonna be changing that. But I mean... CEO's of businesses have to lay people off and shut down unprofitable projects, this is probably a "grow a pair" moment for me lol
